About Sabrina

Who am I is no longer quite so simple. As life always does, it’s been changing and I’m finding my way in it. Part of me is a nurse and I have been for about 20 years, but it’s not all of me. I’m a relatively new widow. I’m a grandma, new to that too. I’m a poet at heart. I’m a disillusioned dreamer, relearning how to dream again.

I used to enjoy sitting at home, though sitting still has never been my cup of tea(however, I love drinking hot herbal tea).  It seems these days, I want to do anything but sit at home. I’m not sure how long this will last or if it’s some kind of phase in my I’m-grieving-and-trying-to-find-my-way journey. I’ve always been the kind to do anything to keep busy…hence the title of my blog…CreativityorCrazy.

I’ve always loved perusing used bookstores and often discover treasures to bring home, though I’ve had to get more selective in recent years as the shelves fill.  I’m an avid reader.  My favorites as of late have been books about writing and books about women’s lives, both memoirs and fictional novels.  I’ve taken to reading books about grief and self discovery as well. Besides reading, one of my biggest passions has become writing.

You knew we’d get to writing sometime didn’t you?  I happened into writing quite accidentally back in the beginning of 2012.  I was between jobs and thought I’d try to make a little money before I went crazy by doing freelance writing.  Well, I only ended up making a sum total of about $20, but I discovered something far more valuable.  I had uncovered a LOVE for writing.

I’m still pursuing freelance writing, though rather unsuccessfully at the moment, but I have done so many things as a writer.  I have written poetry, divulged secrets through journaling, blogged, and wrote a book for the first time ever in my life(a memoir). Writing has given me the power to speak up through the written word, which I have never had through the spoken word alone.  I am passionate about life and inspire to pursue writing further.  I’ll see where the journey leads and I wish you the best in all your writing endeavors… 🙂

Side note of random hobbies : soapmaking, alternative medicine, candlemaking, sewing, crocheting, homesteading, beading

I like your blog for its honesty, transparency and authenticity. You have some real life challenges and you are facing them squarely and confidently. That’s not “crazy,” that’s courageous.
