I’ve been a nurse since 1994 and a family caregiver for many years.  I homeschooled my daughter throughout her life and she graduated this year.  As life always does, it has been changing and I’ve been finding my way in it.  I work in nursing a little less than part-time, so I can be at home more for my spouse.  He has multiple chronic health problems including atrial fib, gout, and COPD.  We live life on a day-to-day basis and try to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.

While I enjoy being home, sitting still has never been my cup of tea(though I do enjoy a good cup of hot herbal tea).  I will do anything to keep busy…hence the title of my blog…CreativityorCrazy.  I’ve always liked to keep myself busy and have many activities I enjoy.  Often I can be found in the kitchen cooking up something from scratch or maybe crocheting away on my latest project.  Sometimes I’ll wander outside to walk barefoot in the grass or toss some kitchen scraps to the guinea and goat.

I’ve always loved perusing used bookstores and often discover treasures to bring home, though I’ve had to get more selective in recent years as the shelves fill.  I’m an avid reader.  My favorites as of late have been books about writing and books about women’s lives, both memoirs and fictional novels.  Besides reading, one of my biggest passions has become writing.

You knew we’d get to writing sometime didn’t you?  I happened into writing quite accidentally this year.  Back in January, before I had another job, I thought I’d try to make a little money before I went crazy by doing freelance writing.  Well, I only ended up making a sum total of about $20, but I discovered something far more valuable.  I had uncovered a LOVE for writing.

I’m still pursuing freelance writing, though rather unsuccessfully at the moment, but I have done so many things as a writer.  I have written poetry, divulged secrets through journaling, blogged, and wrote a book for the first time ever in my life(a memoir).  All of which has happened since January of this year.  Writing has given me the power to speak up through the written word, which I have never had through the spoken word alone.  I am passionate about life and inspire to pursue writing further.  I’ll see where the journey leads and I wish you the best in all your writing endeavors…
